This is a fine reproduction of an astonishing catalog - a pre-revolution Russian samovar catalog, dated 1904, from the famous Batashev factory in the renowned metal working city of Tula. There are 48 samovars illustrated in meticulous detail and fully described, as well as trays, cups, and a separate water-heating apparatus for washing. The cover shows medals won by the Batasheva works, dating from 1864 to 1904.
As well as the catalog itself, we include a color picture of its original waxed-canvas mailing envelope, sent in 1904 to an address in Minnesota. All text is in Russian, but we have added a full English translation that includes even the cover text. In addition, we have provided conversions to modern measurements so that the capacities given in "buckets" and "tea-glasses" can be understood. A gorgeous and unusual book.

We have digitally reproduced and restored our original catalog at an extremely high resolution, and printed the pages on a heavy gloss paper. This is not a photocopy - our methods allow us to retain an unusual image clarity and depth of detail, sometimes limited only by the production values of the original. Some of our fine reproduction catalogs are already in museum research collections.
This reproduction catalog is meant to be a permanent reference. Its true spiral binding, unlike a comb binding, allows this book to remain unharmed when left open at the desired place. The front and back covers are printed on heavy cover stock, protected by sturdy clear vinyl outer covers.
