The Comstock-Castle Stove Company grew out of an 1849 partnership formed by Timothy Castle and Allen and Enoch Comstock, in Quincy, Illinois. Today, the company is still well known for its high-performance commercial ranges.
The catalog’s 90 pages are full of beautiful engravings of stoves and accessories. All items have prices. At the back of the catalog is an extremely interesting and comprehensive list of the company’s stoves. About 175 stoves are listed in this maintenance index. These could be repaired, except those with some parts whose “patterns have been destroyed by fire”. In addition, stoves that were obsolete by 1891 but could still be repaired are listed. This is a wonderful source for identifying and dating an antique stove.
Our original catalog is somewhat tattered, and had lost six pages. Two pages are missing parts of the stove specifications. But we have digitally reproduced and restored the original catalog at an extremely high resolution, almost double its original size, and printed it on the same heavy gloss paper as the original.

This is not a photocopy - our methods allow us to bring out the maximum detail possible, while reversing the effects of age and neglect. Some of our reproduction catalogs are already in several museum research collections.
