56 Plates in Full Color - 75 Different Designs Designs with Borders & Corner Motifs Wall Designs with Profiles Foyer & Entry Designs Mantel & Hearth Designs 20 Separate Border Designs
We have reproduced what was an incredible find for us, a full-color loose-leaf mosaic tile catalog from the U.S. Encaustic Tile Company. We're not sure of the date but are guessing c.1905. Our original tile catalog was stamped Denver Mantel & Tile Co., which we believe was operating at around this time.
The plates are all titled Plate B and a plate number, so these may be from a larger catalog "B." Each design is separately numbered as well.
The gorgeous designs are all shown in full color. Most designs use the classic "hex" tile, though some designs, such as the walls, mantels and some borders, use square and clipped tiles. Every tile is separately delineated in each design. Two original plates were damaged, so we have completed their borders and noted those additions.
The entry designs are really spectacular - not many of these are found in period catalogs. With the exception of one damaged plate, every design has a complete tile color list for both body and border tiles.
This is really a gorgeous book on CD and is suitable for gift-giving.
