Wanamakers was for many years the preeminent department store in Philadelphia, with branches in New York City and Paris. Established by John Wanamaker in the mid-1800's, the store was renowned for its fine quality and incredibly wide range of merchandise. When I was a child in the 1950's, shortly before the stores were sold, my grandmother would take me to ride the monorail that the New York Wanamakers always set up for the Christmas season -- it ran around the ceiling of the toy department!

We are offering a number of vintage and classic glass, Christmas, holiday toy and other catalogs, including FAO Schwarz and Schoenhut.

We have digitally reproduced our original catalog at an extremely high resolution, and printed the pages on an acid-free stock the same color as the original. This is not a photocopy - our methods allow us to retain an unusual image clarity and depth of detail. The true spiral binding, unlike a comb binding, allows this book to remain unharmed when left open at the desired place. Heavyweight clear vinyl covers protect the front and back.

A charming and informative vintage catalog, and a wonderful and unusual gift for yourself or someone special.
